Listen to a song like "Tribute" to get what I mean. The base of their music is basically heavy rock. On top of this comes rap, reggae, funk, violins, middle eastern influences, crazy basslines and weird time structures. All this let the band stand out from your average crossover band. My problem with this album is that I don't really enjoy their influences. Sandra's vocals hop on my nerves and sometimes I get really annoyed by the sound of the guitar. But my personal opinion aside, this album is too strong to give it a grade beyond Excellent. So, in conclusion, buy this album if you are a crossover fan. With youthful recklessness, Henning Rümenapp, Dennis Poschwatta, Stefan Ude and Sandra Nasic created an album in the surrounding area of Göttingen, Germany, which led them on to a victory parade through the rock charts of the world, gave the generation X a voice and the band a career of more than 20 years. Sandra was the first and loudest woman in the genre to become an icon for the girls who were not pop but different. And so, ‘Open Your Eyes’ became a global anthem.

7/27/2023 0 Comments Time zones in usaThis is after investigators found no evidence of an official map of the time zone boundaries.Ī report by the inspector general of the DOT explained that “The official boundaries are narratively described with various types of coordinates and geographic features such as lines of longitude, State or country lines, and rivers.” In September 2022, the DOT declared that a project of creating this map exists and that it will be published once completed. The boundaries of these time zones are regulated by the Department of Transportation, but there is still no clear map of it. Eastern, also called Zone R, includes the states on the Atlantic coast and the eastern part of the Ohio Valley.Central, Zone S, comprises the Gulf Coast, Mississippi Valley, and the majority of the Great Plains,.Mountain is Zone T, and it covers the states that include the Rocky Mountains and the western part of the Great Plains.Pacific, Zone U, comprises the stated on the Pacific coast, Nevada and Idaho.Hawaii, zone W includes Hawaii and the Aleutian Islands, and there is no daylight saving. The odd thing, however, is that even if the US has very distinct time zones, it still has no defined boundaries for them. However, considering the size of the country, the amount of time zones is quite normal. The majority of them follow daylight saving time (DST) for approximately half a year starting from the spring months. The US is divided into six standard time zones. That’s not to mention half-hour time zones, similar to the old Amsterdam time, which ruled that Amsterdam was 20 minutes ahead of London. Australia, on the other hand, has three time zones. However, not all countries follow the same conventions: China, for instance, operates in one single time zone (CST). That line determines the rest of the time zones around the world. Time was standardised and a prime meridian was chosen as Greenwich, London (hence Greenwich Mean Time), with eight countries aligning including, France, Spain, Algeria and Togo. In 1884, 26 countries met in Washington, DC, to attend the Meridian Conference. Clocks display time from various time zones at Warsaw Stock Exchange, Poland, part of Central European Time. Time zones are pretty simple, right? In the EU, there are three standardised time zones: Western European Time in Ireland and Portugal, Central European Time, covering the bulk of the mainland such as Germany and Poland, and Eastern European Time, which includes Estonia, Finland, Lithuania, Romania, Bulgaria, Greece and Cyprus. 7/27/2023 0 Comments Moonbase alpha songs mlpThere is an API however that will give you an audio file based on the text you put in a URL parameter. Instead of just turning them on and off, be able to assign what gestures do.Total Video Player for Mac which is avaible in App Store is developed by EffectMatrix Ltd. it would be nice to have more configurable playback controls with gestures. It feels like a good use-case to cache what was watched so that you can rewatch one quickly if you wanted by pressing back once or multiples times to go back multiple videos. when playing media back in shuffle mode, pressing back used to (a few versions ago) take you to the last video you watched but it now just goes to the video before it when sorted by file name. Feels like password protect is leaving a small loophole in its privacy. If you try open open up the app again, password is requested but audio content is still playing. For example minimizing the app locks it, but content keeps playing in the background. if you have password lock on for opening VLC, it feels like content should pause or stop playing if it’s locked. It used to take between 10-20seconds to start a video file on a network drive and scrubbing/skipping forward or backward had noticeable latency - now that’s all gone, everything is near instantaneous! Scrubbing is amazing to find a specific point in a video quickly! Great update and work! :-)Īwesome new interface, but best is the speed improvements while playing video from accessing the network. I just believe in submitting feedback that could be helpful. But I’m sure someone else has run into this.ĭon’t get me wrong. I’m looking into different ways of labeling the files to get the behavior I want. my problem is that when I get to 10 that it places it between 1 and 2. It works pretty well with my files, which usually have the same “base name” followed by a number. I wish I could change that via an option.Īside from that, I’m having trouble getting sorting to work properly. At least I’m not accidentally closing a video that way! The seeking direction is just a little weird for me. But that is just a little nitpicking on my part. I’m also getting used to not being able to close the video I am playing by swiping down like I am used to doing with any web player I have used. I swipe in one particular direction and I end up going the opposite direction that I intend. For instance, seeking with a finger swipe seems to be counterintuitive at least for me. I just find some of it a little confusing. We will take a look at that Face ID problem.įor playback speed, see the triple dot button during playback. Please bring the icon back to the viewing screen! Thanks! Under the new UX/UI design, I would have to stop the video then access the playback speed under settings to adjust. It is very disappointing because I use this feature a lot in adjusting the playback speed between 2x and 4x on the fly while screening the videos. When the VLC player for iPadOS was updated, I was surprised to see the playback speed control icon (my favourite feature) removed from the viewing screen and buried in the submenu within the settings. I have been using VLC player for a very long time and love its flexibility in customising the hot keys to my suit. FaceID works if you relaunch the app after closing it. I would appreciate if you could fix the bug that causes the FaceID to appear inconsistently when I want to unlock the VLC app. 7/26/2023 0 Comments Let your name be a bywordNo that’s not the same because 1 & 2 Corinthians are clearly two separate letters written at different times with different purposes intended to be read apart from one another. If you’d like to study these super-long books of the Bible in their original Hebrew, check out Zondervan Academic’s online course! (That’s an affiliate link.) This doesn’t change its place in the order, though. One verse in Jeremiah is in Aramaic, not Hebrew (Jer 10:11), so adding those words brings the total up to 33,002. I got all these Greek and Hebrew counts (from the resources I chose) in an evening’s work!Īddendum: turns out Jeremiah is a few words longer than I originally accounted for. Wonder how I made those word counts? It wasn’t as tedious a task as it may seem. Turns out Logos Bible Software lets you copy the words from Hebrew and Greek texts in list form, then export them to Excel. So, if you want to get to know one of these long books of the Bible better, set aside a Saturday to spend reading it all the way through. But even books this big are best read as a whole. So, what if we were looking for the longest book of the Bible in its original format? First, we would combine First and Second Samuel, First and Second Kings, First and Second Chronicles, and Ezra with Nehemiah. Kind of like how The Lord of the Rings was written as just one work, but got split into three volumes to keep the price low enough for the average novel enthusiast. So they split it up into parts one and two. But back then, you wrote these kinds of stories on scrolls: and Samuel was just too long to reasonably fit on one. Why?įor example, First Samuel and Second Samuel were originally just Samuel. Several books of the Old Testament are actually volumes of a larger original work. This count is a little deceptive, though. So Jeremiah is the longest book of the Bible, right? Sure, if we’re going by modern books and their arrangements. Reimer‘s list on Justin Taylor’s blog-though Reimer’s count puts Isaiah before Exodus.) (For the most part, this lines up with David J. Notice anything interesting? The entire top-10 list of longest books in the Bible are all Old Testament books! Four of the five books of the Torah are here, all three major prophets are present, and even one book of poetry made it into the top 10. I referenced the Lexham Hebrew Bible for OT books and the NA27 for NT books, and here’s what I got: This is going by word count in the original languages (not any English translation of the Bible). Here’s a list of the ten longest books of the Bible. I used Logos Bible Software to find out which books are the longest, by original word count. Psalms is a long book, for sure, but its psalms are pretty short (for the most part).Įven though Psalms has more contributors than any other book of the Bible, it turns out that two other books are much longer than Psalms. You can probably guess why this is incorrect. If you’d asked me about it in Sunday school, my answer would have been a quick, confident “ Psalms!” I figured this because the book has 150 psalms, and the runner-up in chapter count would have been Isaiah, with a meager 66 chapters-that’s less than half of what Psalms has. We’ve taken a look at the shortest books in the Bible, but what about the longest book in the Bible? 7/26/2023 0 Comments Metro 2033 redux or last lightWith the legendary Ranger Mode included to offer an extra layer of challenge and immersion, and all previous released DLC, Metro Redux offers 50+ hours of AAA FPS gameplay for an incredible price. With that, here are the six best to-do apps for Mac. Like many people, I've tested loads of different options to try to find the one that fits best. Testing dozens of to-do apps was a surprisingly simple process-mostly because I had already used most of them over the past decade, so it was just a matter of reacquainting myself. Some apps are great for managing dozens of projects while others offer a streamlined experience that helps you keep on top of simple tasks. Not being able to check your to-do list when you're out and about or in the store is a major pain.Īll of my choices offer free trials of some sort, so try out anything that looks useful to you. A good to-do app for Mac can handle the professional, the personal, and everything else you throw at it. Have multiple ways to sort and organize tasks, such as tags, lists, projects, and due dates. For example, Todoist is one of our favorite to-do apps, but it's not one of our favorite to-do apps for Mac. It doesn't matter how good the app is on Windows or the web, if it doesn't respect macOS conventions, it will disrupt people's workflows-defeating the entire purpose of productivity software. Things like keyboard shortcuts, notifications, and menus won't work as expected. The problem, then, is that apps that aren't designed specifically for macOS can just feel wrong. |
